Yes, if your account to where your refund was sent has been closed, your rebate check will come in the mail.

I am in the same boat as you. I had to close my account that I received my tax refund in. From what I have been told by the IRS and also reading what is posted on their website, they initially try and deposit the rebate check into the same account as you had for your tax refund. Of course it will be rejected b/c the account is no longer active, and once it gets rejected and returns to the IRS, they convert the ACH deposit into a paper check and mail it to you. What I can’t get a clear answer on is how long this process takes, and once they convert the deposit into a paper check, do they mail the paper check out under the paper check schedule?? I have called the IRS numerous times and get conflicting answers from each person I speak with. What it boils down to is that if your bank account info that you previously used is no longer valid, they will mail you the rebate check to the address listed on your tax return. I’m just not sure when. The IRS could be a bit more clear on their procedures for people that fall in the “gray” area, but that’s the government for you…

go to irs.gov
and consult the irs.
the money will be deposited into your account and i have no way of knowing if it can be forwarded into your new account automitacally or if you have to tell them the new account..

I would conduct the following hypothesis test and show that the there is no statistical evidence to suggest the proportion is less than 18%

Hypothesis Test for proportions:

Let X be the number of success in n independent and identically distributed Bernoulli trials, i.e., X ~ Binomial(n, p)

To test the null hypothesis of the form

Assuming that n*p0 > 10 and n * (1-p0) > 10 (some will say the necessary condition here is > 5, I prefer this more conservative assumption so that the approximations in the tail of the distribution are more accurate) then

find the test statistic z = (pHat – p0) / sqrt(p0 * (1-p0) / n)

where pHat = X / n

The p-value of the test is the area under the normal curve that is in agreement with the alternate hypothesis.
H1: p ? p0; p-value is the area in the tails greater than |z|
H1: p < p0; p-value is the area to the left of z
H1: p > p0; p-value is the area to the right of z

If the p-value is less than or equal to the significance level ?, i.e., p-value ? ?, then we reject the null hypothesis and conclude the alternate hypothesis is true. The hypothesis test in this question is:

H0: p ? 0.18 vs. H1: p < 0.18

The test statistic is:
z = ( 0.16 - 0.18 ) / ( ? ( 0.18 * (1 - 0.18 ) / 200 )
z = -0.7362102

The p-value = P( Z < z )
= P( Z < -0.7362102 )
= 0.2308014

Since the p-value is greater than the significance level of 0.05 we fail to reject the null hypothesis and conclude p ? 0.18 is plausible.

When you filed for the economic stimulus check you were suppose to tell them you wanted direct deposit.Its to late now belive me i tryed. But from what i hear they are sending the direct deposit checks out on may 2nd.And sending the rest around the 14th. I hope this helps you i dont no any thing about payments online for your taxes.
